LRF Dairy Sweden and Växa Sverige take over the responsibilities of the Swedish Dairy Association from January 1, 2013. The objective of the new structure is to be more focused and make the advisory services for dairy farmers more effective.

LRF Dairy Sweden will focus on issues pertaining to the dairy sector in a new unit at LRF – The Federation of Swedish Farmers.

The purpose of creating LRF Dairy Sweden is to strengthen the influence of Swedish dairy farmers and increase their opportunities in the commercial markets and political arenas with a single, effective organisation for sector-specific issues.

LRF Dairy Sweden will give Swedish dairy farmers greater growth potential and competitiveness. This will be done through focusing on the main issues of sector policies, analysis of future trends, market analysis, crisis communication and other competition-neutral sectoral issues.

Hans-Åke Hammarström is Director of LRF Dairy Sweden.

Växa Sverige takes over the Swedish Dairy Association’s livestock activities. This involves the Association’s departments for breeding, animal welfare, dairy entrepreneurial development, Husdjur and Nötkött (livestock magazines), products and data development.

These changes also mean that Växa Sverige will be responsible for the national assignment from the Swedish Board of Agriculture in regards to infectious disease control and breeding. Växa Sverige will also be responsible for the ongoing Nordic collaborations within NorFor and NAV. The work is done in partnership with Rådgivarna and Skånesemin.

Magnus Lindberg is Växa Sverige’s CEO.

The Swedish Dairy Association continues to own the brands Årets Kock (Chef of the Year) and specific Swedish cheese brands.
